one proud momma

Today was the first day of Noah's piano group class. We spent the day yesterday making sure the studio was all ready and getting the instruments out and displayed. Noah has been asking me for the past week when his friends would come over to learn piano with him, and finally 10 am came. It went so well. I wondered how three four year olds would be able to follow the lesson and keep their attention on me, but the prouf is in the pudding.. after class Noah wanted to go show dad his new book, new rhythm sticks and play for him the two pieces that they learned how to do. I was honestly beaming to see him tracking his music and keeping a steady beat. And he even wants to practice everyday.

It's different, you know. I have been a piano teacher for 10+ years and never knew that I would be so happy to see my own kids learning to play the piano. I hope this is just the beginning and it becomes someting he loves to do as much as I do. Playing the piano is someting I am forever forever thankful to my parents for making a priority in our home.

Here are a few pictures to show off. It's so fun to see him playing. He's so small he can't reach the music while he's sitting on the chair. We are so busy working upstairs on the house that I'm afraid the piano room won't be on the remodel list for quite awhile. But I may start working on it on my own.. at least put up some paint and liven the place up.

I hope the other students had a great time too. My intention was to get a picture of the class, but we were too busy dancing and having fun, the lesson went too quickly and they left before I remembered. Until next week.:)
