just a regular old "mom" day

today has been a great catch up day.. Ben is off to work for the entire weekend, so I'm not working on the house today. Leah took a good long nap this morning, and it's amazing what you can accomplish when your toddler plays nicely with toys and your baby naps.. laundry, cleaning, organizing, budgeting, etc.. it feels so good to get things taken care of. then Noah ate lunch so pleasingly, and we were off to run some errands.. Leah didn't cry, probably because she was well rested from her morning nap, and now we're relaxing again this afternoon, boy it does feel good to have a less stress, normal day.. i'm sure my kids are grateful.

yesterday was mostly spent hauling junk.. the previous owners of the house left lots and lots of things behind.. i don't want to speak rudely of her, but it sure wasn't nice to leave all their junk behind.. in all about 1500 pounds of junk and $35 dumping fees.. plus two days of cleaning up after her.. bleck! tomorrow while ben is gone, i'm hoping to either start the bathroom work or getting the walls prepped for painting.. including starting to paint the ceiling.

last saturday, ben joined in with the teddy bear ride.. he borrowed my grandpa's goldwing bike and took the cruise from logan to brigham city then back again.. he said it was really fun, but also wished he had a nice bike like his buddy that invited him, jeff. i actually prefer the goldwing, it's super comfy with a backrest and elbow rests and a radio. i have to admit, motorcycle rides are one of my favorite pasttimes.
..here's noah with a new interest.. listening to books on tapes. i don't think he actually turns the page when the rooster crows, but he loves to listen to the story. ithink it's great, better than tv. he's even using my old school walkman that i found in my parents basement, it's probably 15 years old..maybe more. at our favorite park, adams.. but it has to be the school park, noah loves this toy:

and up the canyon, i love love love fall. it's the most beautiful time of year!! i love the crisp air, and the crunching of leaves. augh, no pictures of leah again.. next time.

He still talks about him all the time! We just got a swing set so you guys should come by anyway for a visit sometime.

Congrats on the new house, and becoming new homeowners, now the work begins, good luck with that! Hate it while your building/remodeling, but love it in the end, so keep a good attitude, sounds like you are already! I would love to see updated pics!

I wish we were closer so our boys could play! Next time we are up that way I'll have to give you a call, hopefully you'll be able to hear the phone ring over the electric screwdriver :). And I totally feel your pain with Noah needing you to do everything for him, Luke has been going through phases of that ever since Seth came home! The joys of having 2 eh?
