in Colorado

just a quick update while we're getting ready for church. Yesterday we flew to Colorado Springs.. Noah is such a trooper. He thinks he's an expert at flying, he walks around the airport and says, "i'm going to colorado"... and "oh, hi pilot". he did get nervous when we had some bumpiness on the landing into colorado, but insisted that ben put his hand on his chest and that made him feel better. he also now is the weather patrolman, when we go outisde he points his finger at one of us, "mamma, you need your boots and your jacket on".. or "it's freezin' out here". i think one of his highlights was visiting the pilots up in the cockpit as we were exiting the plane. we were the last ones off, so they let him up to sit on their laps.. he was stoked to go, saying "oh hi pilots".. but then when they pushed some buttons which made a few noises, he was lickety split out of there. it was funny.

we're here on post of fort carson in a hotel room. it's beautiful tucked up right against the mountain. yesterday we went for a ride in our pt cruiser, one minute we were downtown the next we were in the canyon going for a walk to a waterfall.. i love the mountains here, they are beautiful. the last base i was on was in missouri, so lots of trees everywhere.. this one not so much, but i guess to foliage isn't out considering it's still february. the weatehr is nice, in the 40's or 50's. today we're going to church and just hanging out here on post.. and tomorrow starts ben's meetings and 'interview's. noah and i will visit the commisarry and px, as well as the library.. lots of parks around here too if it's warm.

oh, our last picture showed noah and ben in front of our old piano.. now it's gone. we listed it on ksl.com, and it sold within a few hours.. the people came, kept their truck running, had cash and four guys to help them out.. wasn't much thought on their part... we were happy, now we have plenty of room in our living room, and i love playing our new clavinova. noah even likes listening to me play, sometimes him and ben fall asleep on the couch while i play through a few of my favorite pieces. it's really enjoyable. we feel like we've got a new house with all the room the old piano cleared up. however now noah is going to have to revamp his prayer because he usually said, "thank you for two pianos". i'll probably have more time to update from our trip later, so better get ready for church.
