Happenings

Lots has been happening the last few months since I've updated the blog.. let's face it, it doesn't make the list of things to do very often.. Here's a quick recap of a few of our favorite things going on..

Leah ready for her first sledding adventure.. she didn't last long, she said it was too fast. But, she talks about going all the time and tells me that she went really fast. We got a new commuter car for Ben and sold the old reliable Ford Probe. This was my car in highschool that had a bazillion miles on it. Ben had been driving it to work for the past three years.. It was a great car and served it's purpose well. The air conditioning didn't work in the summer and the heat only blew full blast in the winter.. hopefully it made some flight attendants life a bit easier since she is using it to travel from her crashpad to the airport. This was taken just as she was driving away and right before I was tagging along on a trip with Ben to LA. I spent two days there, relaxing in the hotel. It was nice.. just wish I wasn't so pregnant so that I could have enjoyed the great mall across the street.. didn't feel like strolling too long, and not like buying clothes is any fun when you have a ginormous belly. Isn't Ben handsome in his uniform??
Halloween. both kids were supposed to be skeletons, but Leah preferred the hand-me down monkey costume that Noah wore when he was 9 months old... (she is about 2 1/2 years old.. can't believe it still fit her). Since Halloween was on SUnday, all the celebrating was done on Saturday, and Ben luckily had that day off.. HOORAY! Halloween just isn't as fun as a parent when you are at it alone.. and it was a little bit rainy, so we spent a lot of time home that day anyway. I was fine with the small loot of candy the kids got.

Noah's second piano recital was this past Monday. The picture quality wasn't great because of the lighting, but I was so so proud. He played Jolly Old St. Nicholas and did an excellent job. I think he was proud of himself as well. He practiced, practiced, practiced and didn't even mind going first. I loved his confident bow at the end. If you are over here during the holidays, make sure to ask him to play.. he would love to perform for you.

Bowling to celebrate his 5th birthday on November 30th. He loves to go bowling and thinks it's great because sometimes he actually beats Ben.. not so on his birthday, but he still had a great time. We also spent lots of quarters at the arcades there and he came away with a few little trinkety toys.. priceless to see how excited he was. What a great day to celebrate together as a family!!

Here he is that morning waking up to a birthday breakfast. Ben's birthday was earlier in the month and we suprised him with a pizza lunch party.. so Noah naturally wanted his own suprise party. I think we scared the socks off him when he came upstairs to a room full of family that yelled Suprise!! Just like his momma, not quite sure what to do with all the attention. He had a great birthday though.. lots of hot wheel cars from us, his sprinkle cake that he wanted, a special airplane from dad, and neat gifts from other friends and family. He certainly is a special boy, we love him.

We are quickly approaching Friday which is delivery day for the baby. So excited to find out girl or boy. Hope the surgery goes smoothly and recovery is similar to the past deliveries. Can't believe in only a few short days I'll be meeting this little one. What a fast nine months. We are ready though. Just Monday Ben signed the paperwork for a new van.. I haven't even driven it yet.. that's how much I trust him. He's driving it home from work tomorrow. Can't wait to see it.. I've been looking forward to getting a van ever since I was a nanny and remember how nice it was to have a little more room between each of the kids.. Noah and Leah were getting a little too close in the back seat, and there was lots of teasing going on. I can only imagine what it would have been like to squeeze a baby in there as well.
Well, next time I post, should be about a new baby.

Loved reading all your updates - wish you well on Friday. Number 3 for me was just about as easy as the other two, so I hope it's the same for you. Nice to know the delivery time though isn't it? Be sure to post all about it when you get a minute!

Good luck tomorrow! I wonder if it is scarier knowing the exact day when you will have the baby or more scary not to know? Either way I am sure you will be happy to have it out of you. Can't wait to see if it is a boy or a girl!
