a new house

...well not really, but it feels like it. we got our carpet installed earlier this week, and it is fabulous.. ben and i have never had so much room in our house. our previous house was small with all laminate floors, and rugs.. the kids rooms were only 2 feet away from the tv room/kitchen.. our current home is similar upstairs, but now that we have the basement, it's great. the kids are quietly sleeping and no more tiptoeing around or keeping the tv on low, we can kick back near the cozy fireplace, feel the soft carpet underfood and watch a movie. we even have our office computer down there as well. it really is great.. no more toys scattered around the house, all downstairs. i can't smile enough about it. i'm sure we will spend most of our time down here. i'm just working to get things up on the wall so it feels like a 'family room'.

amd here's the scoop with potty training. we ran out of diapers, so we told Noah that's just the way it is.. so far it's gone okay. for us, this is what worked:
-let him wear a cool 'potty watch' which goes off every 30-60 minutes reminding him to go potty
-let him pick out really cool treats which he can eat each time he goes potty
-buy some really cool undies






noah has really grown up the last few weeks. he more than exceeded my expectations at the dentist, which is usually like pulling teeth (ha, i'm so funny). he sat still and happy while getting his hair cut at Cookie Cutters in Bountiful, and no more diapers.. he is such a funny little man. he is just so so so excited about everything and loud about it too. that's another great thing about the basement, it puts some distance between noah and sleeping leah.



leah loves her food.. she is having more and more fun with noah, just laughing at his silly things he does for her. no crawling yet, but i'm not suprised... some of you may remember my little monkey scooter noah. she doesn't sleep through the night, but we're working on it. i'm horrible with schedules, things are just too unpredictable... how can you have schedules with so much going on??

oh and last but not least i've been doing aerobics in the mornings.. it's actually been nice getting up at 5:45 am (okay, so usually i'm already up with leah and i don't actually set an alarm) and then having an hour or two before everybody else is up (including ben)
