It's 9am on Sunday morning... both my kids are still asleep, Blissfull! Ben left early this morning for work, stink.
Our basement if finally all cleaned up from the horrid sewage problem.. and YEAH we are in the process of making it a nice new basement... carpet on Thursday, painting yesterday, I can just feel the coziness of the fireplace and a good movie or book!
I just finished the book I've been waiting FOREVER to get from the library. I was on the waiting list, like number 35.. I had nearly forgotten about it when it was available: Nicholaus Sparks, The Lucky One. I really do savor each page of his novels, not wanting to get closer to the end.. something about the settings, I love North Carolina, I so want to go there.
I let Leah cry herself to sleep a few nights ago... took about an hour of fussing, but she did it. Still not sleeping through the night, but she's been much better to fall asleep on her own for naptimes and bedtimes. Hooray!
This awful winter is getting to me.. we're considering Tucson, warm and pleasant. Winter is fun when you can ski and get bundled up.. not so fun when you have two bundled up kids, carseats, diaperbags, groceries, 2 wheel drive, I could go on but I know there are a few of you out there who can relate.
Potty Training, we just can't get it figured out. maybe by kindergarten.. sad but true. Noah thinks that maybe Leah will teach HIM. He definately understands, just doesn't want to do it. Even when he's got tons and tons of real cool underwears to wear.. BOB the Builder, Lightning McQueen, ...etc.
Gonna start pinching my pennies... coupons, sales, stocking up..the works, let you know how it goes.
Well, my sleepyhead just awoke, happily.. YEAH. i'm getting hungry anyway, and the truth is.. i can't wait to give them each hugs!!:) life is still good.

I would so kill for one morning of kids sleeping until 9am, anymore I'm lucky if they make it until 7:30am. Not so bad on the weekdays since I'm up working anyway, but it sure is early on the weekends, especially since we have 1:00 church this year. Sounds like things are going well for you - I hear you on the cold. I like it up until Christmas and just after, but then I'm ready for spring. Hope all is well, loved the new family picture on the top of your blog by the way, it's darling!
I also love mornings like that (although few and far between!). I'll have to check out that N. Sparks book. I'm always up for a good new book! Also, let me know if you have any tricks or success with the potty training thing. Simon just doesn't care either. He knows how...just doesn't want to!
How lucky are you to have kids that sleep in, and be home at 9:00 a.m. That's a dream world for me:) Best of luck with potty training, it took K a while before he decided it was important, and he was almost 4 before I would call him completely trained. Sorry about winters, they are for sure my hardest time as well. I verge on the seasonal depression thing, depending on the winter and how many non-sunny days we see. Hang in there!
I am always up for a good book, I will have to read that one! And dont get too discouraged with the potty training, boys really are harder they say and I can testify to that as well. Corban wants NOTHING to do with it. Luckily we succeeded with Dax, but he was almost three. I hope we can get Corban done soon. I am excited for you to get your basement all fixed up, what a rough road for you to go through. NOT FUN! I would love to come and see your cute house. I love the family pic. super cute.
Great post Camille! You are cute! I'm starting The Last Lecture today. I read a couple pages last week and was already crying. Maybe a little too close for comfort for me.
I'm glad your basement is all cleaned up and you're already starting to redo it! You guys are good. And I'm glad Leah is sleeping better. Seriously, I think it takes a good year to have any sort of consistent sleeping going on. Carter is definately better, but we're still not there either. I hear ya on the weather! It's times like these that we definately miss Tucson! Awww!!! Not just the frigid cold and bundling up kids to go anywhere, but the inversion down here is SO bad, as I'm sure it is there too. Yuck! Anyway, sounds like you guys are doing good. Oh, let me know how you like pinchingyourpennies...I actually like savvyshopperdeals.com better, but that's what I was first introduced to. It's definately good though, still lots of good deals out there to put a smile on your face!
Yea for a new basement! Sorry about the sewage mess. We too are having potty training troubles. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only mother who can't figure it out.
