Saskatoon and dinner parties

Ben is off to Saskatoon... bonus points for anybody who knows where Saskatoon is. Hint, it's supposed to be -18 degrees Celcius. I would have considered going with him, but the weather made up my mind.

I love dinner parties... can i say that again, I love Themed Dinner parties.. Decorating the table is my favorite part.. I don't have much in the way of decorating, but here's two themes we've had in the last week.

Valentines Day.. Ben and i sat on opposites sides of the table.. and i multi tasked feeding leah during dinner.. it wasn't the most romantic of meals, but it was fun to have it special.

notice the homemade fortune cookies.. so easy to make, tasty..but mine didn't turn out like the restaurant type.. i'm still a fan though, it was fun to create my own fortunes. my own personal fortune said "you will get a huge tax return".. yeah, hope it's true. i know, i guess it means i overpaid.. but having a child and purchasing a house, it should all add up for us good.:)

And here's some great news, Leah slept all through the night last night. wahoo!!she's done really fabulous since monday night (the let her cry it out night).. i'm glad she isn't one of those really determined babies who just cry and cry.. we had one rough night, but since then no longer than a few minutes.. and nap times are like a dream, she gives me a yawn or two around 9am, i give her a bink and a blank and kiss her goodnight in her crib AWAKE and she falls asleep.. yesterday it was until 12:30. woah.. she must be catching up from not having good sleep on some crazy days with no schedules.. sometimes it isn't this easy, but for the days it is.. LOVE IT!! she still is a huge mommma's girl. ben can distract her long enough for me to sneak out of the room, but if i come back in and he's holding her, she immediately cries until i come over there.. even if she just hears my voice. oh, what's a momma to do??

And Noah, he is growing leaps and bounds.. we've been diaper free for about a month now.. he's done amazing well, i'm proud of him.

I'm ready for spring.. ready to put away the gloves and coats and ready to open the windows for some fresh air while i clean the house. ready for spring time walks and ready for some sunshine. can it come already???

Since we were the lucky recipients of the oriental themed dinner, I can attest to its yumminess! Thanks Camille!

So glad you're past the CRY stage - it does get better the more you do it and then you wonder why on earth you ever did it any other way. So proud of you for sticking with it, always makes you feel like a bad mom - at least it did to me - but it really makes them more independent and better kids. I agree with the wishes for spring - can't get here soon enough as far as I'm concerned.
